Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Spendo (the "Service," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or otherwise accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our Service.

2. Description of the Service

The Service connects to your financial accounts via Plaid, retrieves your transaction history, and provides automatic transaction categorization and conversational query features. Any insight the Service surfaces is for informational purposes only and does not constitute professional financial or investment advice.

3. User Accounts

  • Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service.
  • Registration. You may be required to register for an account using a valid email address and password.
  • Account Security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to immediately notify us at info@spendobudget.com of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Collection and Use of Data

  • Consent to collection. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and use of personal and financial data (including transaction data) solely for the purpose of providing you with categorization, search, and conversational answers, and for improving the Service.
  • Third-party integrations. We use Plaid to connect to your financial accounts and retrieve transaction data. By linking your bank accounts to Plaid within our Service, you also agree to Plaid's terms and conditions.
  • Data deletion requests. You may request the deletion of your personal or financial data at any time by contacting info@spendobudget.com. We will honor such requests in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to violate any law or regulation.
  • Attempt to access another user's data, or to bypass the Service's access controls.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Use the conversational query interface to attempt to extract data outside your own records.

6. Termination

  • Termination by you. You may stop using the Service and/or request to delete your account at any time.
  • Termination by us. We reserve the right to terminate your access to the Service at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to violations of these Terms, security concerns, or at our sole discretion.

7. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

  • Insights are informational. Any insight the Service surfaces is for informational purposes only. You acknowledge that you use this information at your own risk and should consult a qualified professional for personalized financial advice.
  • No warranty. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
  • Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall we or our affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the use of or inability to use the Service.

8. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms on our website, and the Effective Date at the top will be updated. Your continued use of the Service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
